RESULTS WILL IMPROVE
The QPR defender Anton Ferdinand has said that he is confident that the results will improve under the manager Mark Hughes. The former Manchester City and Fulham manager has come under intense criticism of late due to the poor results at the start of the season for the West London team.
QPR spent a lot of money in getting several high profile players like Park Ji sung and José Bosingwa in the summer, but they are yet to win their first Premier league match of the season despite having played 10 matches. The QPR owner Tony Fernandes has constantly said that he remains in full support of the manager.
However, there have been doubts that the former Blackburn manager Mark Hughes will be sacked if results do not improve before Christmas. This would give Tony Fernandes the opportunity to bring in another manager who will have the ability to change players in the January transfer window. The 27-year-old QPR defender Anton Ferdinand, though, has stated that Rome was not built in a day. Hence, he expects results to improve gradually. Anton Ferdinand has been the focus for QPR this season due to the racist issues surrounding him and John Terry. Ferdinand, though, has said that he has put behind the problems.
“The criticism our manager is getting is unfair. We are working hard for the club and trying to relieve that pressure on him. But people really need to get a sense of perspective, Rome wasn’t built in a day. We have brought in a lot of new players and it takes time to come together as a team. We have had plenty of injuries which means the gaffer has had to change the team even more,” said Ferdinand. QPR will be up against newly promoted Southampton during the weekend.
