REDKNAPP CHASING NEW FACES

The QPR manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that he will have to take a few gambles when it comes to the January transfer window in order to get the team out of relegation trouble. QPR will be playing against West Brom and Liverpool during the Christmas period. The club come into the Christmas period on the back of the 1-0 defeat suffered against Newcastle.

QPR only recently managed to get their first win of the season in the home match against Fulham. They were expected to build on the victory, but they lost against Newcastle in the subsequent match.

This has led to a rant from the manager Harry Redknapp, who recently blasted his overpaid players. Due to the bloated squad with a number of high-paid players, they are unwilling to make the shift in necessary to get the team out of relegation trouble according to the manager.

Hence, he is expected to bring a few of his own players during the January transfer window in a bid to revive the fortunes of the club. Redknapp previously said that the prospect of spending money in January depended upon the position of the club in the Christmas period. They currently lie in the 19th position just a few points below safety.

“I will be taking some chances now in the window, some will, hopefully they will come off but there is no guarantee because I’m not going to be able to go out and pay 30, 25 million pounds for a guaranteed Van Persie or some fantastic player with great character or whatever. I’ve got to take some gambles. We have got to be ready now for West Brom and Liverpool, two difficult games, but good home games,” said Redknapp ahead of the Christmas period. The club has won just one Premier league match this season.
