RODWELL BACK IN ACTION

It seems Jack Rodwell has got back to 100% fitness. He featured for the youth team of Manchester City in a match against U-21 Rochdale side yesterday and played for full 90 minutes.
The City youth team ended up winning that match in the penalty shootout by 4-2.

However, Rodwell couldn’t contribute for his team in the shootout as he didn’t get the spot-kick right. Rodwell had injured his hamstring last month and had been on the sidelines since then. But, now that he has made a 90-minute appearance for the youth team, he can be expected to be back in action for the senior team of City pretty soon.

Talking to the reporters after the game against Rochdale, Rodwell said, “It felt great to remain on the field for the whole game. I had been out of action since the last few weeks, so, I needed a bit of time out there on the pitch.”

According to the latest online betting, Rodwell should be abck in the ine up for the League Cup match in midweek, which Unibet makes them slim favourites to win.

“The pitch wasn’t that easy. It was a bit on the heavier side, but, things went quite well for me and I am happy about it.”

Rodwell’s national team England has made it to the World Cup finals now and the 22 years old midfielder has admitted that he is eyeing a spot in the World Cup squad of the Three Lions.
When asked if he is looking to be selected in England’s World Cup squad, Rodwell said, “Off course, I want that. But, I am looking to do it step by step. At first, I want to make my way back into the City squad and have a bit of playing time. Then, I will start thinking about national team comeback.”

Rodwell has made only 3 appearances for the England national team so far.
