Sagna Believes Koscielny Has Reached Career Peak

Bacary Sagna believes that Laurent Koscielny, his teammate both at the club and international level, has reached the peak of his career now.

Sagna and Koscielny are currently representing Les Blues in the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Koscielny had flourished for the Gunners playing at the left back position in the last season and he has carried on the same form in international football as well. Although he has played at a slightly different position for France in Brazil but, he’s been able to create the same sort of impact.

It’s because of his great form that France’s defence has looked one of the most solid defences in the tournament.

Talking to the reporters yesterday about Koscielny, Sagna said, “I would say he is a top class defender. I feel privileged to be playing for the same team with him. He has added new dimensions to his game in the recent past and has turned himself into a complete defender.”

“And, the great thing about him is that you can use him in whichever position you want. We have seen him playing at the left for his club, while here, for the national team, he is playing opposite. So, he is quite versatile and that’s because he can use both his foot equally efficiently.”

“Great players never complain about the positions and those sorts of things. They are ready to adjust and Laurent is one such player.”

Koscielny has so far won 21 caps for France. He is yet to score for his country though, but, he has been doing his job perfectly in the back line.

France has to play a vital match against Germany in the World Cup tomorrow. That’s the quarter final match and will take place at Estadio da Maracana.
